Collectively our volunteers clocked up 9,660 hours last year and enhanced our projects including the food services, community shop, street homeless drop in, LEAP project, and groupwork programme.
As part of Volunteers’ Week (Monday 2nd – Sunday 8th June) we’ve been celebrating our amazing volunteers by focusing on their stories and asking them thoughts on volunteering at Good Shepherd.

“I love how the Good Shepherd just fosters a culture of second chances because everyone I get to work with is an inspiration and proof that you are not your trauma and life can change.” Nika, Volunteer in the LEAP programme.
“I decided to volunteer when I retired to contribute in some small way to help those less fortunate. I have now been a volunteer for approximately 18 months.” Pat, Good Shepherd Volunteer.
“When I started here in 2010 the work was very simple. It was just the brothers and volunteers. There was no-one else, there was no distinct, there was no staff, so it was all just volunteers.” Brother Charles.
“Good Shepherd attended our Company Away Day in December 2024 and their story was inspirational. No one knows what is around the corner and it could be anyone who may rely on such a service as the one that Good Shepherd provides.” Dutch Holland, In-Comm Training.
