One Donation – Double The Impact, With The Big Give

Are you in a position to be able to support the Good Shepherd’s work with a donation this Christmas? We are once again taking part in the Big Give’s Christmas Challenge campaign which means that any donations made between now and midday next Tuesday (December 6th) will be doubled.

One donation, double the impact!

All funds will go into the Good Shepherd’s work providing food and support services to the people of Wolverhampton.

“We know these are challenging times for a lot of people but the Big Give is a really important campaign for the Good Shepherd as it provides vital funding for our food service heading into the New Year,” says Business & Finance Manager Helen Holloway.

“The huge benefit of the Christmas campaign is that all donations made during this Christmas Challenge week are matched by the Big Give, so people can be safe in the knowledge that their support will have double the impact.

“The demand for our food service and family food pantry is increasing at the moment and we would expect it to increase further over the coming months, so, as ever, the wonderful donations of food and money we receive from our supporters will continue to help us help others through these difficult times.”

In the first nine months of this year we have supported 1031 individuals across our services, provided over 4,500 casework sessions and delivered 133 sessions of meaningful activity.  Our food services provided 15,200 hot meals and 2,257 ‘shopping trips’ at our Family Food Pantry.

It actually costs £140,000 a year to run the food service although that figure would be considerably higher if it wasn’t for receiving donations of food from the local community and food distributors which includes their excess stock.
