Prestigious Nomination For Mr Burns!

The Good Shepherd are delighted to announce that Housing First Key Worker Paul Burns has been nominated for a prestigious award.

Paul is among three nominations for the ‘Unsung Hero’ accolade at the Third Sector awards.  Full shortlist here – https://www.thirdsectorawards.com/shortlist-2023

In his work, Paul goes above and beyond to support people experiencing homelessness, having first joined the Good Shepherd as a volunteer many years ago.

On the Housing First project, he helps people with a history of homelessness and associated complex issues to be able so sustain their own accommodation thanks to a programme of individually-tailored support.

Paul’s influence at the Good Shepherd extends way beyond that, and he is an inspiration to colleagues and the charity’s volunteers and service-users alike.

“We are all over the moon that Paul has been shortlisted for this award,” says Good Shepherd CEO Tom Hayden.

“Anyone who has ever met him will know why he deserves this.

“It’s hard to stand out in a field full of amazing and inspiring people but Paul manages to do that.

“We wish good luck to everyone who has been shortlisted.”

The Third Sector Awards winners are announced at a ceremony in London on Friday, September 22nd.
